Residential real estate has consistently outperformed other asset classes, often doing so without the risk and volatility many high growth investments regularly contend with. The benefits, however, extend well beyond this:
Real estate investments produce ongoing cash flows as the value of their underlying properties increase over time. This effectively combines the ongoing payments offered by low-growth bonds and dividend stocks with the substantial point-of-sale payouts offered by high growth investments.
Residential real estate also offers cash flows that can match or exceed inflationary trends. Because residential real estate generally provides owners with the ability to set rents annually, property performance is not impaired by cost inflation to the extent other investments are.

James has built a successful career in the real estate investment industry, having led the underwriting, acquisition, management, or disposition of more than $1 billion of real estate across the multifamily, office, retail, industrial, and hospitality sectors.
Prior to founding McConnell Capital Partners, James worked for a New York-based real estate private equity firm, backed by global investment partners. He was responsible for leading acquisitions activities outside of NYC and handled property management for the firm's portfolio properties throughout the East Coast and Southern US. During James’ tenure, the firm’s investments consistently outperformed index returns despite the volatility of several market cycles.
James graduated magna cum laude from Columbia University and now resides in both New Jersey and
New York. He is highly involved with the New York Athletic Club where he serves on the membership
and club oversight committees and leads the NYAC Boxing Club. He also serves on the alumni board of his college at Columbia University and
on various volunteer boards at the New York City Ballet. James is a former member of the Brookdale Community College Board of Trustees.
